Resume Evaluation

I found a resume I liked for Kelly Giles a recent college grad and marketing professional. You can view it here:

Kelly Giles Resume

What I liked about Kelly’s resume was the color and the creativity of the design. As a marketing professional creativity is important but she also keeps an overall professionalism. Using the bright purple for her name and personal information gives off a sense of personality. Yet, for her professional credentials she uses a basic strong color like black. She also differentiates headings and body content by using a serif vs. sans-serif. A technique that shows knowledge of design concepts.

The content of her resume is also very well structured. She uses parallelism by beginning her sentences with past tense verbs. She keep her resume to 1 page in length, keeping only relevant information for the job she is pursuing. Her content is well organized using indented paragraphs and bullets with in them. Lastly, her content show her skills and qualifications nicely.

She achieved a great balance of creativity and professionalism that suits her career well.

What do you think of Kelly’s resume?
